ISO 9001:2008 Update
Spring is almost here, the neighbors are tapping the maple trees. The warm days and freezing nights are just perfect for the sap harvest. The warmer spring rains are melting the Michigan ground allowing the spring bulbs to emerge. Wow, we are all glad spring is here.
This month Protomatic wanted to highlight one of the programs that we were working on this Winter. We re-wrote our Quality Management System (QMS) to address the new changes made with the new ISO 9001:2008 standard. Although we continue to be compliant with the ISO 13485 and AS9100 standards, Protomatic has upgraded from the ISO 9001:2000 standard to ISO 9001:2008 standard effective March 3rd of 2009. The following is a brief explanation of the changes.
ISO 9001:2008 Certificate of RegistrationAlmost every section in the ISO 9001 standard was changed. Most of the changes were very small grammatical changes, such as changes from “Identify” to “Define”. The minor changes were in Clause 4 General Requirements , Clause 5 Management Responsibility, Clause 6 Resource Management. The significant changes were in Clause 7 Product Realization and Clause 8 Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.
